Vsbattle Omniverse Rules
Debating: Debating is about being both civil and factual so if you make a claim then prove it because you are now under the Burden of Proof fallacy and if you can't prove your claim and you know you can't then just concede your claim and leave it alone, don't just dodge or deflect basic questions when asked just answer it and if you ain't got the answers then just say the Author/Company never made it clear, Don't derail a thread with nonsense be it over memes or not as this is a forum, not a Facebook post, so by now it should be known we promote the fundamentals of being civil and honest while having clean discussions with one another so we don't want to bring the toxic hostility or negativity to others because it's useless and pointless and to exclude making baseless speculations and just using your own headcanon as fact isn't a fact it's an opinion by default and won't be taken seriously here, but swearing/cursing is fine, just don't aim it at another debater.

1. Omnipotent Battles: There is no need to involve a True Omnipotent being within a debate this means there is no inclusion of Pre-Retcon Beyonder, The-One-Above-All, The Presence, and Mother of Existence, and this also applies to those who are Omnipotential beings (aka Characters that wield Infinite Power without Omniscience) which is a very grey area of things that can be allowed such as The Beyonders, Cosmic Cubes, and Michael Demiurgos, and which will cause any and All threads relating to them will be an automatic Lock and Archive because there is no real discussion between a being who can do whatever they want to someone who can't do whatever they want. (Yes feats or not they wield power to do whatever they want, so no matter the hypothetical they can do it.)

2. Joke Battles: These aren't allowed in the Battle Section we here want some serious discussions that will help educate people on characters and or the series they come from so if you want to make a silly (or cringy) debate then just post them in the General Discussion category of the forum.

3. Powerscaling: Powerscaling/Scaling is not a Universally accepted debating concept on this forum which means you must make it known that Powerscaling is allowed for the debate, this is to help satisfy the spectrum of debaters from the pure featists and powerscalers across any platform.

4. Calculations Like the 3rd rule above it's openly known here that Calcs (aka Calculations) aren't 100% a generally accepted concept and should be made clear and known if it's allowed to be used, and this is why we have a Calculations Section for any and all feats which members can personally or as a group make calculations for characters.

(DISCLAIMER: THESE AREN'T OFFICIAL! THESE ARE FAN-MADE MATHEMATICS/SCIENCE AND CAN/WILL BE USED ON THIS WEBSITE STRICTLY! WE WANT OUR OWN ORIGINAL CALCULATIONS/CALCULATORS WE DO NOT WANT PLAGIARISED CONTENT!!!)

5. Insulting/Harassing: This shouldn't be so plain to see but obviously if a user is shown to attack another user for whatever reason (Petty or not) they will have an automatic concession accepted between the insulter and the person they are arguing with and if the thread gets out of line where it goes into other threads then the post is locked and automatically archived with no hopes of retrieving it unless another battle is posted and just to remind those we punish those who start it vs those defending themselves we aren't a school where both parties get punished when one did nothing wrong vs the one who started it.

6. Bias: Prejudice is in favor of or against one thing, person, or group compared with another, usually in a way considered to be unfair which means if you have trivial dislike against a character/user for a dumb reason like simply not liking them then it's biased by default, and you will be seen as a the usual online term a "Hater" so let's not increase or start hatred for fictional characters/other users here!

7. Feats Vs Statements: If you are debating with a visual novel or just a novel-based character and state all statements from the visual novels is both a fact/feat then all statements from a comic book, anime, and video game series are as valid and denying otherwise will be useless and pointless because Novels do not have visual proof and will lead to a "Concession Accepted", we don't do bias here!

8. Baiting/Spamming: If your VS Battles are a bait against another user then it's a warning and a potential thread lock, and if you spam the same character more than three times for a debate it will be automatically locked/archived and you will be asked not to post about the said character for a day, but if ignored its a forum ban or a ban from the VS board.

What's an example of Spam? A singular member is posting the same matches repeatedly in a short time span from the original post, we usually offer a 30-minute time cap before the same user posts about the same characters to avoid the Spam.

9. Fanfiction: If a series is not officially published under a legitimate license/company (Like Disney, Marvel, DC, Toei and etc) then we are sorry it's not an official work of fiction and will be seen as fanfic....so this means nothing like the horrible series known as Suggsverse is allowed to be used in ANY VS relating discussion unless its a Joke Battle.

(SCP/Creepypasta can be reimagined by anyone so yes this counts as fanfic but will be allowed for edutional purposes between users.)

10. Spite Matches: Purposely posting spite or one-shot debates is prohibited meaning "Mr.Mxy Vs Dragon Ballverse" is not allowed for obvious reasons! SOME might not be legit spite matches and will be allowed unless feats are shown to explain how/why it's a spite match.

11. Respect Threads: Respect threads are a collection of information that harbors an individual character, race, team, weapon, and etc most known feats which are separated for debating purposes into different categories (Speed, Strength, Powers, and etc) and formats this is why we have an official Respect Thread Section on the forum so users can make proper/educated decisions by reading up on the character.

Note: Any/All Respect Threads MUST be from and by this forum alone, we do not want other sources of information from another forum or website to be posted/link here for debates whatsoever!

12. Wikipedias: As we all know Wikia/Wikipedia can be edited by numerous sources (Anonymous or not), this is why our forum has our own wiki, we don't use any other wiki when on/using this website, because people could/can go and edit that page or cause havoc, this is why we want our users to have free reign and can ask about what can/can't be edited we are open to those who are educated and want to help expand the creditability of the website.

13. Cheerleading: Tagging in someone for the sake and sole purpose of "Cheering you on" is not acceptable and is a VERY toxic mannerism/ego to have, if you are seen tagging someone for the sole purpose of being your "Yes, Man/Woman" you will automatically fall under the "Concession Accepted" fallacy, and will be exiled from the thread.
Debating 101 (Debating Guidelines)
These are the basis for both keywords/known terms so you can understand how to properly debate online or in real-life situations.

1. Evidence: " the available body of facts or information indicating whether a belief or proposition is true or valid." This means if you make a claim you must prove it.

2. Debunk (Debunking): "expose the falseness or hollowness of a myth, idea, or belief." This means you must prove something is false and not true in a debate!

3. Rebuttal: In a debate, a rebuttal is a part where you explain what is flawed about the other side's argument in a constructive and in a Non-hostile manner, and no being a smartass is not having a rebuttal.

4. Implication: the conclusion that can be drawn from something although it is not explicitly stated!

5. Lore: a body of traditions and knowledge on a subject or held by a particular group, typically passed from person to person by word of mouth.

6. Denial: Denial can be taken primarily as someone having a refusal to admit the truth or reality of something such as a statement or evidence.

7. Feats: is a visual presentation of what a character, weapon, power, attack (technique), and the vehicles can or can't do's. (Note: Fictional or Not)

8. Primary Sources: Are the original work of the author(s)/Creator(s) they are the source for all the information, they have the original knowledge of all things within their fictional continuities.  (Examples: Handbooks/Guidebooks Written by the creator or Official Interviews/Statements)

9. Secondary Sources: This is when other people who aren't the creators/authors are involved and are analyzing, synthesizing, interpreting, or evaluating primary sources into their own words/beliefs this is often confused with official authorization but is seen as non-creditable information. (Example: Books not authorized by the creator or not written by them or the company.)

10: Bias prejudice in favor of or against one thing, person, or group compared with another, usually in a way considered to be unfair.

11. Inconsistency: When a series shows multiple flaws within the characters, their powers, the weapons, and the attacks.

12. Retcon: A reboot or a reimagining of/to a character, event, and or storyline, which can create either a fixed continuity or created a more flawed one.

13. Casual: Someone who "Acts" as if they know the characters/series they are debating but in actuality, they don't and just use online forums/google as their source of information.

To be a Good debater is to know not just the characters but also the universe they come from so doing research, and finding the best official sources and source material you can get can and could win you both the arguments and the overall debate so using the most known terms here and remembering to be fair, level headed, and positive will get you the best type of creditability but to lie, slander, or being biased will make you lose creditability as it reflects horrible debating skills.

Question: What if I asked for feats and get nothing but statements/excuses?

Answer: When an opponent is under the Burden of Proof fallacy they must comply with the request for evidence, because what is a debate without facts? Its basically nothing but a useless argument.

Question: What if I have novel statements and not visual proof or confirmation?

Answer: Always always do research first before arguing for novel characters, it's best to take it with some grain of salt because not all authors are using their full intent for the character/series, as some could/can be seen as a Hyperbole/Exaggeration.

Question: What if my character is strictly lore-wise?

Answer: Lore-wise characters aren't always creditable for feats because some lore can be easily false or easily misinterpreted so always have confirmation in research before any debates.

Question: What if I don't know the opponent's characters?

Answer: It's alright to go in blind most of the time for characters but doing research and reading the source material prior can easily help you debunk a feat or have a rebuttal argument because then you also have knowledge on the said character's powers and weaknesses.

Question: What if my character is featless?

Answer: If your character has no feats of any kind then avoid using them period! you'll just make yourself look like a casual! There is a reason Feats are a primary source/focus in a debate!
